What Does Hypnosis Feel Like?
Hypnosis is something that actually feels quite familiar, because it is familiar. Besides experiencing it before falling asleep, we also experience it when daydreaming, driving, or typing, even in the shower. Every time you find yourself working in automatic pilot so that you can go inside yourself and focus on something ( I. e. – to do lists), you are utilizing natural hypnotic states. Have you ever been so preoccupied with something that you didn’t hear someone calling your name? Maybe you were reading, watching TV/movies, surfing the net or doing hobbies/crafts, this is because you naturally entered into hypnotic states without any conscious effort at all. Your mind remains fully aware, and you will subconsciously hear everything that goes on around you. You may not consciously hear it but you subconsciously do. When experiencing natural hypnotic states often people comment on how they find the noises around them fade into the background. Also understand that in hypnotic (natural or induced) states you will always be able to communicate easily and naturally. You will find hypnosis to be an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
Common Misconceptions about Hypnosis
Over the course of time hypnosis has built up a reputation of being of the occult or supernatural. Many of these misconceptions are due to Hollywood ‘s depiction of hypnosis, while others were born from the stage show. Throughout time the fear that has surrounded hypnosis has remained the same. Those who choose not to be hypnotized will not be hypnotized,
those who are intoxicated/altered will not be hypnotized during their intoxication,
and those who are suffering from a mental condition such as psychosis, or schizophrenia.
This does not mean that these people can’t be hypnotized , it means that there are circumstances that can hinder your ability to enter into hypnosis.
2. Will the hypnotized person do anything the hypnotist suggests?
Fact: Any individual in a hypnotic state will not do anything against his or her principles or moral standards. The person would either reject what was suggested or simply come out of hypnosis.
3. You can program me not to smoke anymore, right?
Fact: Hypnosis is not a form programming, it is a process in which you enter into the ideal states of hypnosis and are then offered positive and empowering suggestions to reframe unwanted issues/symptoms. It’s up to your subconscious mind to accept and implement the suggestions offered by the hypnotist
4. Does the hypnotized person hand over control to the hypnotist?
Fact: No, the hypnotist is not controlling you. Hypnosis is not a form of mind control, you will remain in complete control throughout the entire session. As a matter of fact you are actually in more control than ever before as all of your internal and external senses are heightened.
5. Can a person get stuck in hypnosis?
Fact: There is not one case in recorded history in which a person failed to come out of hypnosis.
6. Does a person need to be in a deep trance for hypnosis to be helpful?

8. A hypnotized person is unconscious or asleep.
Fact: No, hypnosis is not a state of sleep, in fact If you are in a deep sleep (REM) you are no longer in hypnosis. Although be aware that in the deeper states of hypnosis, there is a tendency to forget portions of the hypnotic session.
Also note – for the first hour & a half you are asleep you are actually in hypnosis, so your subconscious mind is at the forefront taking in everything going on around you, with or without our conscious knowledge
So what is Hypnosis?
Well simply put Hypnosis is a very familiar and a very welcomed feeling. Most refer to it as an “altered state” of mind. Unfortunately this can be easily misunderstood. So let’s keep it simple because Hypnosis is simple!!!
Feeling relaxed is one of the most common words used to describe the hypnotic experience, however, it’s important to note that you do not need to be physically relaxed in order to enter into and remain within the confines of hypnosis.
The most accurate definition of hypnosis:
Hypnosis is simply an internalized focus. So in simplest terms whenever you go within yourself and focus on a particular object or experience, you are really experiencing a hypnotic state for yourself.
You will find many have describe hypnosis as:
A bypassing of the critical factors of your mind. What this means to you is your subconscious mind allows you to reframe or implement new positive imprints/beliefs in order to create a new positive reality. Because you are bypassing the critical area of the mind you then begin to access your subconscious mind directly, which is ultimately what’s needed in order to maximize the potential for the suggestions offered to the hypnotized person. So as a reminder now, the subconscious mind is the part of our mind that creates our reality. It has up to this point created everything you experience or have experienced in your life such as; your house, your job, your car, your clothes, your friends, etc… Our subconscious mind is the storehouse for our beliefs, memories and desires. So it makes sense that if you want to make any changes to these things you must access the part of you that stores these behaviors and/ or traits in order to reframe them. The subconscious is the part of you that allows you to accomplish those miraculous feats we’ve all heard about. You know those incredible stories that show us just a tiny glimpse at how powerful the human mind is, and what it truly is capable of. Things like being able to remove a limb just to survive The subconscious is truly the most powerful factor within each and every human being (mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually) *Important note – With all that being said understand that in order to maximize your full potential you must not only work with the subconscious mind, but you must work with the conscious mind in conjunction with the subconscious.
Past Life Regressions
A past life regression can be used to explore this life’s events and relationships to those you know now, and how you were connected in past lives. It can help us to enhance what is good in our life today, by seeking to look into those past lives where we have lived our strengths and talents. A past life regression can bring understanding and clarity into some issues that seem to be blocking your progress in living joyously. This can be especially helpful for anyone who is having an unexplained difficulty in their daily living. Other issues to explore are: lack of personal power; career dissatisfaction; lack of commitment; unexplained anxiety or fear; unexplained illnesses and, unexplained reactions and feelings towards people. I use hypnotherapy to guide you to a relaxed comfortable place within yourself, and then moving you deeper into the subconscious mind where you are fully aware and in control of your session, to recall or relive a past life. . You will need to put aside the judgments, doubts, and criticism of the ego/mind to allow the process to happen. It takes willingness on your part, being open to explore other realms and levels of consciousness. In a past life regression negative energy that may be present from a past life can be released by the subconscious usually after seeing and understanding the events of a past life. This release of this negative energy will then be brought forward, into this life, changing your negative patterns. You may notice the change almost immediately in your life. It may show up in the way you connect with those in your life that you have a past life connection with, your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being may be different. Old fears or health issues may clear up that were related to that past life.
