Well, we have landed.  After a year of enjoying the gypsy life, we have found our new home.  Gabriola Island.

My name is Francis Wolokoff, my partner is Connor Drader, and together we dreamed The Medicine Garden Wellness Centre into existence.  Our common values and dreams not only made us ideal business partners, we are also partners in Life.  With joy we opened our doors in November 2009 in the quaint hillside Town of Ladysmith on Vancouver Island.  A town rich with history, natural beauty and buzzing with activity.

We created a tranquil healing space with our colours, natural finishes and edible and medicinal garden in the back.   Over the course of 7 years, we grew our little wellness centre to be one of the largest on Vancouver Island.  We had a shop full of holistic goodies, metaphysical treasures, a fully stocked herbal dispensary (medicinal herbs and tinctures, not Medical Marijuana!) and of course our own organic herbal products.  Our Services grew to include 5 practitioners who practiced, Acupuncture, Massage, Reiki, Shamanic Healing, Herbal Medicine, Hypnotherapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Tarot Readings, and so much more!    IWe had come to a place of success and abundance.  Connor and I were both busy with clients, as were all our practitioners.  We had become a hub of wellness for our little town and all Vancouver Island.  Then out of the blue, something amazing and life changing happened.  We discovered we were expecting child!  Well, this changed everything.

The Rebirth – The Medicine Garden Farm & Healing Sanctuary

Thanks to the arrival of our beautiful Son Hunter Sage (Who goes by Sage now) and our second Son Reed Apollo, we have opened even more space in our hearts and lives to creating wellness in the world.  Starting with our family, and extending out into the community.  Our desire and intention was to become even closer to Mother Earth, and provide healing products and services locally, naturally and sustainably.  This to us meant moving to a rural property.  This allows us as a family to live authentically and holistically.  Spending these precious early years as the primary care givers to our children, while still following our passions in business and health.  This new space will also allow us to grow more of our ingredients (herbs) that go into our product line, as well as expanding it. It will also give us “room to grow” in the future.  We have plans to include retreats, overnight stays, classes, workshops and many other wonderful things that our current space could not allow, while keeping all the great products and services you’ve come to love.

March 2016, we sold our Ladysmith location.  For the following year we lived with ease and flow, enjoying our new found freedom.  We landed on beautiful Gabriola Island by divine grace, and planned to enjoy its bounty while we searched for our new home on Vancouver Island.  Well, this island wooed us with it’s beauty, it’s healing waters, and most of all it’s people.  We fell in love with the community filled with other healers, visionaries, activists and peacemakers.  We were home.

In January 2017 we took possession of our new home & Acreage on Gabriola Island.  While we look forward to serving the community here with our services, products, classes and herbal gardens, we are still committed to our current clientele.  We are looking for a room to rent to see clients in Nanaimo.  In the meantime we can be mobile (Come to you) for some of our services, as well as we are delivering our products from Chemainus to Lantzville free of charge.

Thank you to all of you beautiful people who we have come to love in Ladysmith and surrounding areas for all your support.  We look forward to reconnecting with you.

Hello Gabriola Island!  We have gotten to know many of you, and are so excited to become more involved in this community.
